The metro station following the Gitanjali Metro Station on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road is the Masterda Surya Sen Metro Station located in Bansdroni in South Kolkata. It was previously known as Bansdroni Metro Station when it was established on 22nd August 2009.

Evidently, it got its name from the neighborhood it is located in. But later the name was changed to Masterda Surya Sen Metro Station after Surya Sen, a Bengali freedom fighter instrumental in the Indian Independence Movement.

It is situated on the Kolkata Metro Line 1 of the Kolkata Metro and the fifth last stop in the north-south corridor. It is an elevated Metro Station with 2 platforms one of which runs south towards the Gitanjali Metro Station and the other running towards the Netaji Metro Station.

Passengers from attractions like the South City Mall and Victoria Memorial commute through this metro station due to the close proximity. It is because of this that it is usually a very crowded station, but it helps in diverting the traffic from roads as it is located underground.

The station has disabled access as well which allows people with special needs to travel as well. It operates from 7 A.M. to 10 P.M. each day from Monday to Saturday and 10 A.M. to 10 P.M. on Sundays like all other stations of the Kolkata Underground Metro Network, with hundreds of people depending upon it for their commute.
